Living the ImmunoLife
Welcome to the ImmunoLife Series with Dr. Dean Mitchell – clinical Immunologist and holistic medical doctor in NYC.
The ImmunoLife series is about Dr. Mitchell’s upcoming book “ImmunoLife.” Both the book and the video series discuss what you can do to strengthen your own immune system naturally and with proven scientific methods.
The topics in the book start with your Immuno Score and go all the way through to the ImmunoLife Program. The book topics include the following:
This topic starts off the book and is a validated questionnaire that asks specific questions about your age, weight, exposure to infections, and medications you are taking which all affect your risk of infectious disease, auto-immune disease, and even cancer.
While doing research for the book Dr. Mitchell discovered that scientifically women are less likely to get infections than men. This is most likely due to the amount of estrogen they produce compared to men. Both this series and the ImmunoLife book are going to help both men and women find ways to strengthen their immune system.
Immuno Testing is a new lab test that can help you determine if you are more at risk for a certain type of infection as well as how your body will react to inflammation.
You are constantly being exposed to infections like the flu virus, Lyme disease, and a plethora of other diseases that you commonly hear about. This section explores how you improve your immunity when you are constantly exposed to disease and infections.
So many medications like antibiotics, acid blockers or even the new biological medications being used for arthritis and inflammatory bowel disease like Crohn’s disease affect your immunity and you need to know how to protect yourself.
Certain surgeries lower your immune system and put you at more risk for infections. We will cover these as well as teach you how to prepare like an athlete for surgery. Not only will you be strong going in but you’ll also recover faster.
The Immune Signature is a new concept that tells how your lab markers can determine if you are going to recover from things like surgeries.
The Immuno Environment involves pollutants you are exposed to, toxins you may be exposed to in water and allergies plus what you can do to minimize exposure and strengthen your immune system.
Vaccinations are really important. While there is so much controversy when it comes to vaccinations like the flu shot they can be very important in helping to prevent severe infections and cancer.
The ImmunoLife Program discusses specific diets including what you should eat and supplements you should take as well as exercises and the importance of sleep. All of which play a role in improving your immune system.
We hope you’ll join us in the ImmunoLife series. Please reach out to us here or on Facebook with comments and/or questions.
